Deepmala is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ born in Shanghai, finished training in Zurich, currently based in Kathmandu. She is the co-organizer of the movement workshop Somatic Time and works internationally across theatre, audio-visual installation, and performance art. Enriched by literature, audiovisual and embodiment practices, Deepmala enjoys the sound of Techno and electronic music with a focus on atmosphere, texture, and narrative flow. Her sets unfold as immersive journeys, moving between ambient landscapes and driving, modern Techno. Alongside her event performances, sometimes she works in music and sound design for theatre productions, art films, and workshops, bridging physical movement and electronic sound based on her theoretical research. After curating and mixing a DJ lineup for her diploma theatre production, Deepmala has performed at venues and festivals in Switzerland, Germany, China, and Nepal.
