Miao Zhao is a professional clarinetist, musician born in Xi'an and based in Zürich. Known for her capricious musical and artistic profiles, making appearances cross various artistic and musical formations between spheres of contemporary music cultures in Asian and europe.

Her recorded work has been released on a range of experimental and underground labels, including Czarnagora, DRALANDRECORDS, Noise Bombing Records, BlauBlau Records, Czystalmine Records, Potongjari Records, Nomar Edition, and NEOS Label.

Zhao has performed and toured widely across Switzerland, Europe, Eastern Europe (Noijzu & OX Balkan Tour 2023), and China and Indonesia (Eclectic Echo Asia Tour 2024, MiMi at Capricious & VíZ Asia Tour 2025).

Behide her artistic creations, Zhao's practice is rooted in researching collaborative methodologies of musical practices that are shaped by social and spatial contexts.
